Write essay correctly

There is nothing worse than when they give you a task about which you know nothing.

This often happens on exams in schools or colleges, when the teacher promises to give the tasks that you solved together, but then gives you something completely incomprehensible and more complex. All students, without exception, faced this problem.

But challenging tasks are not the only problem. Each of us came across such a concept as an essay. And each of us spent a huge amount of time learning how to write interesting and unique essays that the teacher would have liked. But if for this purpose it was necessary to act according to the principle of trial and error, then today it suffices to read several articles about it. Many linguists have already found the answer to the question how to write an essay correctly, so that it meets all the requirements and generally accepted standards. But in order to learn all these rules, it is not necessary to read voluminous works, it is enough just to understand how the structure of the essay works and what the composition should be.

Each paragraph should develop the basic idea, which should be clearly formulated at the very beginning of the paragraph, if possible, in one sentence, and then supported by additional information and evidence in the text of the paragraph. In the first sentence, we focus on the subject, providing guidance on which direction our speech will go in this paragraph.

Therefore, it should be constructed in accordance with the exact rules:

it should contain an explicit reference to the subject of the paragraph and should clearly indicate to the reader what argument or thesis we present in connection with this topic. It is necessary that this sentence be followed by a series of arguments that provide evidence to support the thesis. You can also write examples that illustrate a thesis, and information that explains this thesis. At this stage of drawing up a paragraph, you need to be as specific as possible: therefore, the arguments in support of the thesis can be statistics, percentages, data taken from studies or reports; links to stories, anecdotes or personal experience; citations from primary or secondary sources; facts or specific examples.

Finally, it is necessary to clearly indicate why the information and data presented is relevant to your essay: remember that the reader must clearly understand how these arguments support your thesis.

The conclusion also has an important function: it should summarize the information presented in the main part of the essay, so it is often advisable to take the words or expressions already used in the sentence with which we formulated the paragraph topic so that the reader understands that we summarize what was said. The conclusion can also be used to link the paragraph with the following: in this case, it may be appropriate to anticipate the words or expressions with which we formulate the argument in the next paragraph.
